1830 Chardonnay (2018)

A beautiful Tasmanian cool climate Chardonnay, Bangor's 1830 displays a wonderful balance of apple, pear and classic stone fruit flavours, lovely natural acidity with a twist of lemon, & vanilla characteristics from the delicate use of French oak.  Chardonnay is a classic food wine, pairing beautifully with seafood, white meats and soft cheeses.

Small batch, only 400 cases made.

A Note from Us

2018 was a warm year in the vineyard with good growing conditions and great flavour development. Gently aged on a mixture of new and old oak barrels, this is a great food chardonnay. Enjoy at your next meal with family and friends. - Matt & Vanessa

The 1830 Story

This wine in named in honour of John Dunbabin, who lived as a tenant farmer in the Bangor region of Wales. At the age of 23 he was transported to Van Diemen's Land as a convict, arriving in Hobart Town in December 1830. Through hard work and determination he earned his freedom and bought his own land, paving the way for 5 generations of farming legacy here at Bangor.
