A Note From Us

“2023 was a cool and wet season resulting in low yields. The long growing season delivered mouth watering acidity and delightful flavour, with a beautiful crisp finish. Gently aged on a mixture of new and old oak barrels, this produced a delightfully complex chardonnay that will continue to grow and reward with cellaring over the next few years.” - Matt & Vanessa

The 1830 Story

This wine in named in honour of John Dunbabin, who lived as a tenant farmer in the Bangor region of Wales. At the age of 23 he was transported to Van Diemen's Land as a convict, arriving in Hobart Town in December 1830. Through hard work and determination he earned his freedom and bought his own land, paving the way for 5 generations of farming legacy here at Bangor.
