WHAT BANGOR MUSIC IN THE VINES IS ABOUT
CULTURAL HERITAGE
We acknowledge the Pydairrerme people as the Traditional Custodians of this region, including the land on which Bangor now sits. We pay respect to the Aboriginal community today, and to its Elders past and present.
We recognise a history of truth, which acknowledges the impacts of colonisation upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and stand for a future that profoundly respects their stories, culture, language and history.
CELEBRATING TASMANIA
The Bangor Music in the Vines Festival is a celebration of music, wine, and the natural beauty of Tasmania, all set in the stunning surrounds of Bangor Vineyard. This unique event brings people together to enjoy live performances from talented artists, showcasing a mix of iconic and emerging local artists. With breathtaking views of the bay as the backdrop, the festival offers a day of unforgettable experiences, blending the very best of Tasmania’s culture, food, and wine.
MAKING CONNECTIONS
The festival is about more than just music—it’s about creating connections. Whether you’re dancing with friends, discovering new wines, or enjoying delicious local food, Bangor Music in the Vines is the perfect opportunity to unwind and celebrate the joy of community. It’s an event for everyone—families, music enthusiasts wine lovers and those looking for a relaxed day out. At its heart, the festival reflects Bangor’s passion for bringing people together to create memorable moments in a truly spectacular setting.
SHOWCASING LOCAL
We have a strong focus on everything local. All the musicians, performers and artists are local Tasmanians. Tasmania has a rich music and festival culture, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to showcase iconic talent, along with rising stars.
We’ll be showcasing incredible local produce from Blue Lagoon oysters, to Bream Creek and Tongola cheeses, Saltwater River greens and Bangor lamb. Our award-winning chefs will be crafting an exciting selection of mouth-watering festival tucker.
We’ve also partnered with a range of local accommodation providers to give you weekend-away inspiration. Stay local and make it a weekend to remember.
CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
At Bangor Vineyard Shed, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Hosting the Bangor Music in the Vines Festival, we embrace the opportunity to deliver an event that celebrates music and the environment while maintaining our commitment to sustainability.
Bangor has a spectacular environment with 5,100 ha of native forests and grassland, 2,100 ha of nature conservation reserves, and 35 km of coastline. Bangor is home to a large number of animals and birds, including some of Tasmania's most precious and iconic species. Marsupial residents include Tasmanian devils, wallabies, bettongs, wombats and quolls. There are over 120 bird species including wedge-tailed eagles, sea eagles and swift parrots. The protection and sustainability of this special environment forms the core of everything we do here at Bangor.
Carbon Neutral Event. The Bangor Music in the Vines Festival is a carbon-neutral event. Thanks to the 5,100 hectares of native forests at Bangor, we store 1,500 tonnes more CO2 than we emit annually—fully offsetting the festival's emissions.
REDUCING WASTE
Bangor Vineyard Shed is an energy-efficient building, powered by our 30kW solar array that meets most of our energy needs. We recycle everything we can, we are efficient with water usage, and we reduce transport miles by sourcing products, goods and services as close to us as possible. We will have a strong focus on reducing the use of consumables during the festival, with no single use plastics. We are partnering with Bettercup to hire the festival glasses, so that they can be returned and used at other festivals.
FUNDRAISING
We're thrilled to be partnering with our local Dunalley Primary School to raise funds to support a range of activities for local students. While there are lots of upsides to growing up in the country, many of the activities and experiences we take for granted in the city are only possible in regional schools through fundraising efforts. Please consider supporting our beautiful local country school. You can donate when you book your festival ticket, or on the day.
