With the school holidays here you may be looking for activities for the kids.  The Port Arthur Historic site has many events and activities on offer for the whole family.

Makers' Market - this Sunday

Our Makers' Market is back by popular demand this School Holidays!  Browse turrakana / Tasman Peninsula's finest for sale and sampling with many new stallholders from 10am – 2pm Sunday 26 September.

 

Far from Home - Family Tour

Do you know what were the weights of the leg irons that the convicts used to wear? Do you know why convicts were wearing different types of uniforms back in the day? Do you know what was the youngest age for a child to be transported in the 1800s? To find the answers, come and join our new family tour - Far from Home .  

Available daily at 12pm and 2.30pm from 26 September to 8 October,  Far from Home is free for all Port Arthur ticket holders (and resident pass holders).  Spaces are limited so bookings are highly recommended.

 

Conversation with a Guide - Free Talks

The stories of Port Arthur are rich, detailed and personal and offer thought-provoking and fascinating insights.  Our expert guides have delved into a variety of them and wish to welcome you to a series of free talks in 1830 Restaurant from 4.00-5.00pm.  For those who would like to stay for a meal, you are welcome to ring us at 1800 659 101 to book a seat for a relaxed parmie meal.

Peninsula Art Exhibition

The Tasman Peninsula is surely the home of some most talented artists. Next time when you visit, don’t forget to stop by the Asylum/Town Hall at the Port Arthur Historic Site for this great local art exhibition from 9 – 17 October.   All valid Port Arthur Historic Site ticket holders, and local residents and rate payers can enjoy the exhibition for free.  No bookings are required but please check in at our ticketing counter when you arrive.
