Mon 13th - Sun 19th of August is Gin Week at Bangor! We are teaming up with the lovely people at Hellfire Bluff Distillery to bring you a week of cocktails (G&T, and Limoncello Spritz), and gin inspired food.
Our Pinot Gris is named Jimmy's Hill after the highest point on Bangor. Rising a commanding 1002 ft, Jimmy's Hill was the site of one of Tasmania's convict era semaphore stations. With a simple hut for shelter, Jimmy, the rugged bushman who called the remote outpost home, maintained a vigilant eye on adjacent stations, standing by to relay messages.
Seventh generation Tasmanian farmer Matt Dunbabin has been named 2015 Australian Farmer of the Year at the sixth annual Australian Farmer of the Year Awards, hosted by Kondinin Group and ABC Rural. Matt also collected Diversification Farmer of the Year at the Sydney awards ceremony last night.
