Bangor Adults Clay Workshop
Saturday 26th July, 10am-1pm
Join us for our popular adults clay workshop with Ilana Bea, in Bangor Vineyard Shed's private wine room.
Get creative and make a beautiful pair of fairy wrens or robins for your house or garden. Hand sculpt, paint and glaze your creation. Firing will occur once your piece is dry, then it can be collected from Bangor or Hobart.
An inclusive and welcoming workshop. No previous experience needed. Come and try your hand at sculpting in an intimate and fun environment. $85pp. Includes a beautiful Bangor morning tea, 3 hour workshop, all materials and firing.
Bangor Lazy Winter Lunch
This winter treat yourself to a sensory journey at Bangor. Start with our unique black glass wine tasting, exploring flavours without the influence of sight. Yesterday’s Gentlemen is a retro suit, hat, and tie quartet inspired by jazz and blues gentlemen from yesteryear. YG Leader, guitarist, and vocalist “Eddo” Edmondson blends these influences into a songwriting narrative shaped by his Tasmanian roots in surfing, rockabilly, retro cars, and tattoos. Join Matt Dunbabin in the vineyard for a hands-on winter experience.
Ever wondered what happens in the vineyard during the colder months? Come along and learn how we prune our Pinot Gris vines, then try your hand at pruning one yourself. Afterwards, enjoy a tasting of our Bangor Pinot Gris, the very wine you've helped to care for.

Talks and meet the Experts:
- Dr Jemina Stuart-Smith - Marine Ecologist, Institute for Marine Antarctic Studies. Jemina leads the conservation recovery program for the critically endangered Red Handfish. She’ll share incredible insights into this rare species and the recovery work underway.
- Dr Karen Gowlett-Holmes is a Marine Biologist, co-owner of the Eaglehawk Dive Centre, and active diver for over 35 years. Karen is an internationally recognised expert on marine invertebrates, and she has won national and international awards for her photography. Karen is an expert on the marine environment of the Tasman Peninsula and will be sharing her expertise with us. Her stunning photography and deep knowledge of the marine world will leave you inspired.
- Associate Professor Scott Ling - Marine Ecologist at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), University of Tasmania, where he leads important research on the health of Tasmania’s reef ecosystems. His work focuses on the relationship between rock lobster populations and the control of sea urchins, particularly in areas like North Bay on the Tasman Peninsula. Overgrazing by sea urchins can devastate kelp forests. Scott’s will share his research with us on how healthy rock lobster populations, natural predators of urchins, can help restore and maintain balance in these fragile underwater environments.
This event promises to be engaging and educational for all ages. Whether you're a curious child, a passionate adult, or someone simply looking to spend an enriching afternoon, this showcase has something for everyone.

We are closed Good Friday, but open every other day over Easter and the School Holidays.
Bookings are recommended for inside tables (especially on weekends and public holidays). We also have a large deck area (heated and covered) with tables for anyone that drops in without a booking, and picnic tables on our large, fenced lawns. If sitting outside, we recommend bringing a hat, and a jacket for the Tassie weather.

Wine tasting with a difference! Take a stroll through the vines and learn about the history of the vineyard and the Bangor property, about how the grapes are grown, and how Bangor wine is made. While in the vines you will taste wines from Bangor's range. Experience a working vineyard first-hand, while soaking in the views across the bay and the picturesque seaside township of Dunalley. The general public don't have access to our vineyard, so this is a unique opportunity to see Bangor vineyard up close.
