Opening Hours in the Region

How Long to Spend at Bangor

Most visitors spend 2–3 hours enjoying tastings, lunch, and the vineyard views. Add 45 minutes if booking a vineyard tour.

Getting Here from Hobart

45 minutes via the Arthur Highway. We're the last winery before the Tasman Peninsula – your final chance for wine tasting before Port Arthur!

Local Accommodation

There are no large chain hotels in this area – you'll find charming smaller hotels, B&Bs, and unique stays like St. Martin's of Tasmania – a beautifully restored heritage-listed church in Dunalley (owned by Simon from DineAlley Tours). This makes the region feel authentic and less touristy.

Dunalley Hotel offers casual pub-style dining with lots of seafood options, and has free camping spots available – perfect if you're travelling in a campervan.

Short Walks & Photo Stops

Perfect for breaking up the drive:

  • Marion Bay Lookout – stunning coastal views
  • Dunalley Canal – see the convict-dug waterway
  • Pirates Bay Lookout – gorgeous views, coffee truck available
  • Tessellated Pavement – unique rock formations (can be slippery)
  • Tasman Arch / Devil's Kitchen / Blowhole – all accessible from one car park, very short walks

  • Remarkable Cave – short detour off the Crescent Bay Beach walk, absolutely worth it
  • Doo Town – quirky houses with “Doo” puns in their names
